Gabrielle: "Are you saying that we've been out - that Xena has been dead for twenty-five years?"
Village Woman: [Nods]
Xena: "We've got to get to Rome."
Gabrielle: "Why Rome?"
Xena: "Because that's where Octavius was headed. He'll know where I can find Eve."

Xena: "You … Do you know anything about a Roman big shot named Octavius? He's probably a general or commander."
Village Woman: "Only commander I know of is Livia … the Emperor's bitch. Excuse my language, but when Augustus lets her slaughter innocent people, like the followers of Eli, I just lose myself."
Gabrielle: "Eli? Do people still follow his teachings?"
Village Woman: "You're not from around here are you?"

The First Xena Merchandise Emporium
[Xena and Gabrielle come upon a tavern whose sign consists of two sais and a chakram. Inside they find an ancient Xenite merchandise emporium, with everything from dolls to collectible scrolls to 8X10 portraits.]

Meg: "I really recommend the beans … [farts loudly] … Oh, pardon me."
Xena: "It's Meg!"
Gabrielle: "No, Xena, you were identical."
Meg: "Here, give me that (mug). I'll get you a fresh one."
Gabrielle: "If I were you, I would lay off the starches."

Gabrielle wasn't so butch.
Meg: [to Xena] … "You know what? Shorty, you kinda look like her … Only Gabrielle wasn't so butch."

Joxer: "Meg! Come one, shake your moneymaker, would ya? We got Bard Burgers burning back there."
Meg: "Aw, hush up."
Joxer: "You hush up."
Meg: "No, you hush up!"
Joxer: "Oh, yeah? You hush up first!"
Gabrielle: "Joxer?"
Joxer: "What?!
Gabrielle: "Is that you?"
Joxer: "Gabrielle … Xena …" [passes out]
Xena: "Joxer?"

Joxer: "What are ya gonna do now?"
Xena: "All I know is, I've got to find my baby."
Joxer: "You know, I looked for you for years. I only quit after … after old Argo died."
Xena: "Argo … they'll never be another like her."
Joxer: "Come with me, girls."

Is that really Argo's daughter?
Joxer: "Xena, meet Argo … the second."
Gabrielle: "Is that really Argo's daughter?"
Joxer: "Yeah. Only thing is, I never let anyone ride her."
Gabrielle: "Xena …"

Xena: [Xena mounts Argo II] … "Let's see what you can do!" … [Xena and Argo II jump a fence and prance around a bit, much to Xena's approval and delight]

This ... is Virgil.
Virgil: "Hey, Dad! Can you come here and take a look at this?"
Joxer: "Hey, boy! Come here! I want you to meet somebody. I want you to meet Xena and Gabrielle. This … is Virgil."

Virgil: "It's a privilege to finally get to meet you."
Joxer: "See? The apple didn't fall far from the tree."
Xena: "You have a son."
Joxer: "Yeah."
Xena: "That's great."

Joxer: "Hey, you know that, Roman friend of yours - he … uh … swore you two were alive after I saw you dead."
Xena: "Roman fr-- … you mean Octavius?"
Joxer: "Yeah."
Xena: "Did he have Eve with him?"
Joxer: "Yeah, but he left after he saw Ares drag your bodies away."
Gabrielle: "Where is he now, Joxer?"
Joxer: "Rome."
Xena: "Then that's where we're headed."

The apple fell VERY far from the tree
Joxer: "Wait a minute. You might not get there because things have changed a lot since you were last here. You better let Virgil and I take you."
Virgil: "This Octavius isn't going to be easy to find. The Emperor's holding a victory march for his champion, Livia."
Joxer: "Yeah, see? So … uh … it's all settled. I'll go get my armor and delouse my sword, and, hey, you know, it'll be like old times again."

Xena: "The crowd's got them (the horses) spooked. You think you can get them to a stable?"
Gabrielle: "Yeah. What are you going to do?"
Xena: "I'm going to take in a victory march."
Gabrielle: "Xena, you know how degrading they are."
Xena: "Yeah, and everyone who's anyone is going to be there."

Xena: [seeing the Emperor on his royal perch] … "Octavius is Augustus."

Ave, Caesar.
Xena: "Ave, Caesar."
Octavius: "Xena!"
Xena: "Octavius … Where's my daughter, Octavius?"

That's Eve?!
Crowd: "All hail Livia!"
Xena: "That's her?!
Octavius: "Livia, Champion of Rome."
Xena: "That's Eve?!"
