'To the death'
Varia: "To the death."

Xena: "What's going on? … Wait! Marga! Your warriors can't beat Ares' army. You have to go now, leave them to me."
Marga: "If we leave, we are nothing. We are nothing. Without our land we are no longer Amazons."

'It's a fight you can't win'
Xena: "You don't understand. Ares is insane. It's a fight you can't win. You have to listen to me."
Marga: "No! Xena, you have no authority here. You brought our mortal enemy to our village. We don't trust you. Amazons, let's fight!"

Gabrielle: "Xena, they're lambs to the slaughter."
Xena: "Not if I can help it."

'What'll I do the rest of the afternoon?'
Marga: "You burned our forest! You murdered our sisters! No more. We won't take another backward step. You'll have to kill every last one of us."
Ares: "What'll I do the rest of the afternoon?"

Ares: "Now, you know what I want, woman. If you give it to me, I might think about being nice."

'You afraid of a girl?'
Xena: "Alright, Ares, this is between you and me."
Ares: "Yeah, yeah, Xena, take a number. I'll get to you."
Xena: [unceremoniously kicks his sword out of his hands] … "What's the matter, God of War, you afraid of a girl?"
Ares: "You're kidding, right? … Oof!"

Xena: "You're soft, like all the Olympians. You know, I killed all the others, Ares. But maybe I stopped too soon."

'She can't say those things'
Furies: "She can't say those things … It's her fault, Ares … Kill her."
Ares: "Shut up."
Furies: "Kill her."
Ares: "Shut up! Get away from me!"

'You're losing it'
Xena: "You're losing it. Oh, and Ares … gods don't bleed. Care to explain that to you loyal troops."
Ares: "I'll tear you apart with my bare hands!"

[Xena takes off on horseback with Ares close on her heals.]

Ares: "Right behind you, Xena! That's right, baby, I'm still here!"

'We don't have much time'
Eve: "Varia?"
Gabrielle: "It's me. Look, we need your help. We don't have much time. Grab these [furs], come on."

[On top of a snowy mountain, Xena dismounts her horse and heads towards a small icy lake.]

Ares: "Hey, Xena! Where ya going?! I got something for ya!"

Ares: "Are you ready to die, Xena?"
Xena: "Been there, done that."

[Xena chucks here chakram at Ares who just barely misses being sliced; it then ricochets off a couple of frozen rocks and flies off into the wild blue yonder.]

Ares: "I tried, you know, real hard. And you know what? I'm all tried out. So what am I saying here? I guess I'm saying … it's over."

[Xena and Ares engaged in one serious fistfight.]

Ares: [bleeding on the ground] … "Does this give you pleasure? Do you like this? You're like a snake. You're like one of those three-headed dogs! You are mean! If I could open you up, I would show people the mean inside you! And I will! I will!" … [opens up a big ole can of whoop-ass on poor Xena]

Ares: "You are making this way too easy."
Xena: "I'll try harder."
Ares: "Oh, would you."

'You might be a mortal, Ares, but you will never be a man!'
Xena: "You might be a mortal, Ares, but you will never be a man!"
Furies: "Kill her!"

[Ares pounds on poor Xena until she finally falls into the ice filled lake.]

'You're so beautiful'
Ares: "You like that? Speak up, I can't hear you! Xena! Where are you? Don't hide from me … [he sees her trapped under the slab of ice he's standing on] … Oh, there you are. You're so beautiful. I can't hear you. You tried to fool me, the God of War. Well, that is what you get, Xena. That is what you get. You're right, I'm no a man. I am the man! Xena!"

'You just killed your beloved'
Alecto: "You just killed your beloved, Ares. How does it feel? … We have avenged the death of the Olympians. Now, the Furies will rule in their place!" … [Where did that chakram get to … oh, there it is! Bye-bye Furies.]

Ares: "Xena … Xena!"

[Ares, finally same again, jumps into the icy water to retrieve Xena's body.]

'I loved you, Xena'
Ares: "I loved you, Xena."
Gabrielle: "Ares!"
Ares: "I killed her."
Gabrielle: "No, you didn't, not yet.

'you did it'
Gabrielle: "We just have to get her warm. The body drowned in cold water, her organs are still alive. Let's keep her warm."
Eve: "Okay."
Gabrielle: "We have to get her breathing. Come on … [uses Xena's CPR technique minus the hysteria] … come on … wake up … come on … that's it, you did it … [Xena reaches a shaky hand up to catch her chakram] … good plan."

'Mortality stinks'
Xena: "Hey."
Ares: "Mortality stinks … not to mention hurts."
Xena: "Yeah, it does sometimes."
Ares: "You have got a wicked right jab."
Xena: "Sorry about that."

Ares: "It's not the end of the world. Who knows, maybe as a mortal I can experience something I never could as a god."
Xena: "Like what?"
Ares: "Like you."
Xena: "You never give up, do you?" … [kisses him softly on the lips]
Ares: "Ow. I guess I'm finally getting to you."
Xena: "You always got to me. But you were bad for me, Ares, you still are."

'More like one in a billion'
Ares: "Xena … is there even a chance we could be together one day? I don't know, maybe one in a thousand."
Xena: "More like one in a billion."
Ares: "So, you're saying there is a chance."

'I gotta stop trying that'
Ares: [tries to disapparate with his non-existent powers] … "I gotta stop trying that. I'm gonna rupture something."
