Xena and Gabrielle meet up with the busty and deluded Mavikan. Ares sends the gals off to a land far, far away to duke it out. Xena and Gabrielle get a bit closer. Mavikan and her breasts are thwarted. Ares is dejected. And, Xena develops a bit of respect for Gabrielle.

Mavikan: "You know, you can cut the party tricks. You're looking for an heir, a mortal to carry on your name."
Ares: "Oh, I've considered it."
Mavikan: "Well, here I am ... my sword ... my life ... my heart."
Ares: "Honey, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but one action pack roll in the sack does not make you the heir to Ares' mantle."

Ares: "No, you're not the one." Mavikan: "I don't blame you for not seeing it. So, come on, test me." Ares: "Mavikan, you are way out of your league. You have no idea what my standards are. So, why don't you go back to that little gang of bandits you were leading and leave the world domination to professionals, okay?"

Mavikan: "I'm serious, Ares. I don't know what Xena had to do or say to get the job, but I want it."
Ares: "First -- it is not a job. Second -- Xena never asked me for anything, that's how I knew she was the one."

Ares: "Now, I got something real important to deal with, but I'll come back later ... don't be here."

Gabrielle: "Xena, that guy was mine!"
Xena: "I can handle it!"
Gabrielle: "Yeah, well, I can help you. Xena ..."
Xena: "Stay back, Gabrielle!"

Gabrielle: "I'm not a kid anymore. You'd think that she would know that."
Ares: "Considering all you've been through."
Gabrielle: "Ares, whatever you're looking for, look somewhere else."
Ares: "Do I always have to be after something? You've been away for a while. Maybe, I've missed you. Maybe, I'm just trying to help."
Gabrielle: "You only help yourself."
Ares: "Well, ultimately that is true, but it doesn't mean I don't understand. Okay, let me take a shot at this -- Xena's been overprotective of you, she's been treating you like you're still ..."
Gabrielle: "There were five bandits -- five of them. She could have handled four and I would have been happy with just one. But, no, she had to take them all."

Ares: "It is hard to shed your perceptions of a person." Gabrielle: "I'm tired of it."

Ares: "I noticed you're getting pretty good with those (sais)."
Gabrielle: "At least someone noticed."

Gabrielle: "Who are you?" Mavikan: "The name's Mavikan. I'm looking for Xena." Gabrielle: "What do you want with her?" Mavikan: "I want to kill her ... and I understand that killing you is the best way to meet her."
